RDTC is undertaking identification, planning, construction, and implementation of ropeway projects and innovative transport solutions in Himachal Pradesh with an aim to provide first/last mile connectivity.
Innovative Transport Solutions for Shimla, Dharamshala, and Manali
Draft conceptual plan/pre-feasibility studies for developing alternative innovative transport solutions in Shimla, Dharamshala, and Manali have been completed.
The RFP for the development of Innovative Urban Transport Solution by Ropeways in Shimla Phase-I on PPP/PPP via VGF mode has been floated. The 22 km long ropeway is estimated to cost Rs. 1,200 crore.
Ropeway Connectivity to Killer in Chamba
The financial bids for consultancy services for the preparation of Detailed Project Report (DPR) for ropeway connectivity to Killer via Sach Pass in district Chamba have been opened. M/S Systra MVA Consulting (India) Pvt. Ltd. has been awarded the work.
The ropeway from Bhanodi to Pre-Garaon via Sach Pass is to be developed in eight stages and will have a tentative length of 21.80 km.
Narkanda-Hatu Peak Ropeway
The financial bids have been opened and work for the development of Narkanda-Hatu Peak Ropeway on PPP mode in district Shimla has been awarded to M/S Q2A Solution Ltd., Hong Kong.
The tentative length of the Narkanda-Hatu Peak Ropeway is 3.10 km. The estimated cost of the project is Rs. 172 crore.
Mata Baglamukhi Temple Ropeway
The RFP for Mata Baglamukhi Temple Ropeway on PPP mode, from Chandigarh-Manali National Highway near Pandoh dam reservoir up to the temple (Bakhli) in district Mandi, has been floated.
Overhead MRTS in Himachal Pradesh
The financial bids have been opened and M/s Wapcos Ltd has been awarded the consultancy work for identification, planning, and preparation of Feasibility Reports (Techno-Commercial) for overhead MRTS in Himachal Pradesh (excluding Shimla, Dharamshala, and Manali).
Passenger Ropeways in Himachal Pradesh
Expression of Interest (EoI) cum financial bid for three passenger ropeways in the state has been floated. These include:
- Jabli-Kasauli Passenger Ropeway in district Solan
- Shirgul Mahadev Temple Passenger Ropeway in district Sirmaur
- Pundrik Rishi Temple Passenger Ropeway in district Mandi
